Replacing prisons with detention
houses will result in a detention
that is more
humane, optimally suited to
each
individual and more
effective at reintegration.. Because
detention houses are small,
incarcerated people are approached
in a personal way and treated
decently. Because detention houses
are differentiated, incarcerated
people are assigned to the right
security categories and participate
in optimally suited programs.
Because detention houses are
embedded in the community,
incarcerated people remain connected
to society and will return to
freedom more successfully.
